Alternate Donation MethodsIf you cannot take your items to Raleigh Auction, we will accept any item at 8431-137 Garvey Drive (the "older" building) during the following days and hours:
Notice: We have two buildings with similar addresses. Our facility at the corner of Durant Rd and Garey Dr is the WRONG Building. CORRECT DROP-OFF LOCATION Our second building is located down Garvey Drive from our adoption center. To find it, continue down Garvey Drive (one way street and dead end, so this is the only way you CAN go). Look for a long low red brick building on your right. This is building number 8431-137 Garvey Drive. Our Suite #137 is located on the end of the building furthest away from the street. You may also mail small items to us. Unfortunately, it is not cost-effective for us to pick-up items and cannot offer this service except in rare situations for truly exceptional items. Contact us for details. Possible pick-ups may be scheduled for two weekends prior to event. WHAT TO EXPECT ON AUCTION NIGHTFree and open to the public. Very user friendly process. Bidders simply register upon arrival and get a bidder number. Pay with cash, checks or credit card. The auction is staffed by the professionals at Raleigh Auction plus volunteers from SAFE Haven. Expect a very fun and exciting evening including a prize drawing and a few choice items for silent auction. Everyone who attends the auction will be entered into a drawing for an Amazon Kindle E-book Reader. We will draw for the prize at 8 pm. You must register the night of auction and must be present to win. One entry per person please. No mail-in entries. Cats available for adoption from SAFE Haven will join us for the evening and we will also provide information and educational materials. Refreshments: We will be serving desserts, pizza and drinks for a nominal donation. BENEFITS FOR DONORSHelp SAFE Haven and help yourself:
EVENT HISTORY2011 Marks our 8th Anniversary for the Raleigh Auction and Estate Sales Benefit. At the 2010 event, we raised approximately $12,000 thanks to the generosity of our donors and volunteers. Kathy Mitchell, the owner of Raleigh Auction and Estate Sales, has been donating one evening of her very busy schedule for SHFC since 2005. In true feline support, the five cats who live at the auction house even put in a guest appearance on auction night! Auctioneers have donated their time along with other staff members and SHFC volunteers. After a very small commission to the house, SHFC averages $10,000+ in earnings. With your generous donations and participation at auction, we hope to increase our 2011 earnings above last year's impressive $12,000. Past auction items donated to SHFC have included used automobiles, fine jewelry, art, quality furniture, antiques, memorabilia and more.
