BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

SAFE Care Feline Spay Neuter Clinic. Below are instructions and information you need to know for participating in our low-cost spay neuter program.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT

How Our Clinic Works

This program is available to all healthy cats of 12 weeks or older. Kittens must be in good condition and weigh at least 2 pounds (usually around 12-15 weeks).

  • The cat should not have any food after 8 pm the night before. Water is fine to leave out.
  • Kittens (under 3 pounds or 4 months of age) should eat in the morning before they come as they normally would.
  • Cats should arrive at the clinic between 7:00 am and 8:00 am in individual clean PLASTIC carriers or traps. One carrier per cat. No cardboard carriers please. For your convenience, carriers are available at the clinic for $30.00.
  • Feral cats should be transported in traps. Please bring a separate clean plastic cat carrier to go home in.
  • Payment is received at drop off in the morning only. We accept cash, check or credit card.
  • Pick up time is between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm (6:00 p.m. on Mon).
  • Each cat goes home with written discharge instructions and a medical record with rabies tag and certificate.

Catching Feral Cats

We realize catching feral cats is not an exact science so we are willing to work with you over a period of several different days or weeks to get these cats trapped and sterilized.
