You’d do anything to give your furry friend the healthiest and best life possible, but taking care of them is not always the easiest task. There are often unexpected bumps in the road, so it’s important to know how to handle these obstacles and make the best decisions for their future. Luckily for you, SAFE Haven for Cats is pleased to announce the return of its Feline Fundamentals series to give you all the information you need to take care of the kitties!

Over the course of the next year, we will host eight different workshops including “Bottle Feeding Orphan Kittens,” “Pet Readiness for Natural Disasters,” and “Caring for Senior Cats.” No matter what your interests are, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

To give everyone adequate space to grow your knowledge and engage with the content, we are limiting each session to only 25 participants. Spots are likely to fill up early, so be sure to sign up as soon as you can! Each class is only $5, which is cheaper than most drinks at Starbucks!

Like people, senior cats have special needs and sometimes exhibit puzzling behaviors. Learn more about medical, social, and nutritional needs for seven to 10-year old kitties. Dr. Jennifer Bledsoe-Nix of the SAFE Care Clinic will give her healthcare tips and recommendations for aging felines.

You might be hesitant to foster cats and kittens because of the time commitment, but not all kitties’ needs weeks of care at home. For some, just taking a short break from the shelter provides them with the love and enrichment that increases their chances of adoption.

Yes, these bottle babies are super cute, and their care is both an art and a science. Learn best practices from the experts! You will learn exactly what to do if you find orphan kittens. Please Note: Expert cat caretakers will demonstrate feeding kittens since these babies are fragile and require special handling and care.

Cat Communication – Tuesday, May 7, 2019 – RSVP HERE

Cats talk with their whiskers? A cat’s body is one giant communication tool, and you can learn how to decipher the most subtle of body language from your kitty. Our very own Dr. Jennifer Bledsoe-Nix will teach participants about cats’ social structures and how to prevent behavior problems before they even become an issue.
