How did I get here? | Transfer from Granville County Animal Shelter |
BONDED PAIR. Hi! My name is Alfred - isn’t that a regal and formal name? Well don’t let the name confuse you - I am just a handsome lanky teenager! My brother Willard and I came to SAFE Haven from the Granville County Animal Shelter - and just in time before the shelter had to close for a while. We are a bonded pair as we are best buddies - and we have spent the last seven weeks in a foster home where we have been working on our social skills. Our foster parents say I have come a long way. I was very timid when I got there, but now I run to the door whenever I hear them walk nearby, and I push toys under the door to get their attention. I will need an experienced and patient adopter, and will do best in a quiet home. Sudden noises and movements still startle me quite a bit. I really enjoy petting now and sometimes expect two-handed petting! I LOVE to play - with my brother and also with my foster parents. My favorite toys are the Cat Dancer and ping pong balls, but I love to chase lots of different things. My foster parents can sometimes make toys fall magically from the sky - and I really like that too! I can jump really high. I do like chasing things with feathers at the end of a stick, but my foster parents say I don’t play nicely because once I get it, I just growl at my brother and at them and I won’t give it back. I just don’t like sharing! So, if you think you can keep up with us, come by and check us out. And as the song goes “if you’ll be my bodyguard I can be your long lost pal. And ...when you call me ...you can call me Al.”
