These SMS Messaging Terms of Use (“Terms”) outline how SAFE Haven for Cats (“SAFE Haven for Cats,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) sends and manages text messages. These Terms apply when you opt in to receive SMS messages from us.

By providing your mobile number and opting in, you consent to receive text messages in accordance with these Terms and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), 47 U.S.C. § 227.

1. Purpose of Messages

As a non-profit 501(c)(3) animal shelter and clinic, SAFE Haven for Cats uses SMS for the following purposes:

• Shelter and clinic closings
• Confirmation of cat adoption appointments
• Appointment reminders for admissions, adoptions, and surgeries
• Authentication or identity verification

2. TCPA Compliance and Consent

By submitting your phone number and affirmatively opting in (e.g. verbal agreement), you provide prior express consent to receive SMS messages from or on behalf of SAFE Haven for Cats, including via automated systems.

You are not required to consent to SMS as a condition of requesting or using any of our services.

3. Opting Out

You can cancel SMS messages at any time by replying with ‘STOP’ to the text messages to opt out.

5. Message Frequency

The number of messages you receive depends on the services you subscribe to, your system activity, and your current support tickets. Message frequency is not excessive and is limited to relevant service-related communication.

6. Message and Data Rates

Standard message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier. Check with your wireless provider for details. SAFE Haven for Cats is not responsible for any charges incurred.

7. Security of SMS

While SMS is convenient, it is not encrypted or guaranteed secure. Do not use SMS to transmit passwords, access credentials, or sensitive client or business data. You agree to use SMS at your own risk.

If you receive a suspicious message claiming to be from SAFE Haven for Cats, report it to us immediately.

8. No Guarantees of Delivery

Delivery of SMS messages depends on your mobile carrier and device settings. SAFE Haven for Cats is not liable for delayed, failed, or misdirected messages. SMS should not be relied upon as the sole method of receiving urgent information.

9. Privacy

We value your privacy. All mobile numbers and personal information are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We will never sell, rent, or share your mobile number with third parties for their marketing purposes.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. If significant changes are made, you will be notified via SMS or through the client portal. Continued use of our SMS services after such updates constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
