Every cat deserves a chance at a safe, loving home.

This year, SAFE Haven for Cats showed up in big ways, for cats and the people who love them.

More than 1,100 cats found their way home, each one leaving our shelter for a life filled with comfort, care, and love. That’s on average 3 cats a day finding a loving home.

Our clinic performed 6,825 spay/neuter surgeries, helping prevent future litters and giving thousands of cats a safer, healthier future across North Carolina and beyond. That’s, on average, 131 cats a week getting life-changing care.

When families needed extra support, our community stepped in. Together, we shared 6.7 tons of pet food, helping keep cats where they belong, with the people who love them. Wow, that’s the weight of about 3 small cars.

We also welcomed cats with nowhere else to go, including those displaced by natural disasters, because when others can’t, SAFE Haven steps up. National rescue partners look to SAFE Haven when cats need a safe place to go.

Our impact reaches across the Triangle and beyond, serving cats and families in Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Granville, Harnett, Johnston, and Wake counties. That’s more than 4,000 square miles of community impact. When cats need help, SAFE Haven is where our community turns—and we’re proud to step up every time we’re needed.
