Join us for a fun-filled summer adoption event featuring adorable kittens and lovable cats ready to find their forever homes. Kittens will be available on a first-approved, first-adopted basis until they’re gone, but don’t worry, we’ll also have plenty of amazing adult cats looking for loving families, too. The week of the event, we’ll share previews of our adoptable kittens on social media. Give a cat the paradise they deserve in a loving home like yours.
To help make the wait more enjoyable, we’ll have summer-themed activities and a cat toy-making station to keep everyone entertained while adopters move through the process.
Because kitten adoptions take time and care, approved adoptions may take approximately 1.5 hours to complete. We encourage potential adopters to complete their adoption survey in advance to speed things up, but you can complete it at the event. Get pre-approved for adoption now.
Adult cats deserve love, too. While kittens may steal the spotlight, many wonderful adult cats are also looking for homes and often transition more easily into busy households.
Thinking About Adopting a Kitten?
Kittens are playful, curious, and full of energy, and they thrive with companionship, routine, and patience.
Before bringing home a kitten, here are a few things to consider:
- Kittens need a feline friend. In most cases, kittens thrive when they already have another young, friendly cat at home or when adopted in pairs. A buddy helps teach social skills, confidence, healthy play habits, and provides comfort when humans are away. SAFE Haven kitten adoptions (for kittens under 12 weeks) require that you adopt two kittens or have another cat at home.
- Summer schedules matter. Young kittens need attention, structure, and bonding time. If you have vacations or travel plans this summer, it is best to wait until you can fully enjoy those important first weeks together at home. SAFE Haven kitten adoptions require that you do not have a vacation scheduled for the next 3-4 weeks after adoption.
- Kitten-proof your space. Curious kittens love to climb, chew, squeeze into tiny spaces, and explore everything. Be prepared to secure cords, remove toxic plants, and create a safe environment for their adventures.
- Expect lots of playtime. Kittens need daily enrichment and interactive play to stay happy and healthy. Toys, scratching posts, climbing areas, and regular engagement are all part of helping kittens grow into confident adult cats.
- Patience goes a long way. Every kitten adjusts differently. Some are instantly outgoing, while others may need a little extra time to settle into a new home and routine.
- Plan for lifelong care. Kittens may be tiny now, but they grow into lifelong companions. Future veterinary care, quality nutrition, and ongoing enrichment are important parts of responsible pet ownership.
Whether you’re searching for a tiny sidekick or a laid-back cuddle buddy, your perfect match may be waiting for you at SAFE Haven. Come celebrate summer and help a cat find their paradise.
