30 Cats ❤ 30 Lives ❤ 30 Reasons to Give

Saving 30 cats on our 25th Anniversary couldn’t have been more serendipitous. When we started SAFE Haven for Cats, we did it because we wanted to save lives. Thanks to YOU, it was easy for us to say “YES!” to The Humane Society of the U.S. to save these lives.

In the last few days, we’ve had time to get to know these sweet cats. They are all so worthy of love. They are all so worthy of attention. They are 30 more reasons to care.

Their need for medical care is great. A few of the kitties are expecting and most are not spayed or neutered. Some of them have signs of ringworm. A couple are very scared and will need extra care from our cat whisperers before finding good homes.

Despite this, they seem glad to be here! They feel the love of caring people who know they are worthy of love.

Can you spare $30 to help care for the Worth 30?

The Worthy 30 Need You!

The Worthy 30 Need You!

SAFE Haven for Cats is ready to heed the call to care for cats in need and we’ve been called again. The Humane Society of the U.S. called us to find homes for 30 cats — we couldn’t refuse. We knew you, the SAFE Haven community, would help us save these sweet angels.

A total of 169 cats were saved from private property with unsanitary conditions; many of the cats saved needed urgent medical attention. Only 30 came to SAFE Haven and it will be a long road to good health for many of them. The cats appeared to suffer from a lack of veterinary care and were living in conditions typically seen in severe neglect situations.

NOTE: Some readers might find the images and videos in this link disturbing.

Read this article from HSUS about the Worthy 30 – “Nearly 200 cats rescued in large-scale alleged neglect situation in Killeen, Texas.”

We need your help to care for the Worthy 30.
