Who Will Care for Your Cat When You’re Gone?

Shirley M. Diefenbach, an attorney from the Estate Planning Group of Walker Lambe and Lisa M. Gabriel, President & CEO of Pinafore Wealth Counsel, Inc, are teaming up to help demystify some of your questions about caring for your cats when you are gone. Their interactive and light-hearted presentation will show you how to set up a simple pet trust, types of charitable gifts that can benefit you, your charity and your heirs, and will help you to begin thinking about what your legacy will be.

Safe from Dorian

Close Up of Grey Kitten

Thanks to you, our amazing supporters and volunteers, we were able to take in 33 cats from our friends at the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach as they prepared for Hurricane Dorian. By clearing their shelter before the storm, they have room to rescue any animals lost during Dorian so they can be easily reunited with their families. Consider helping us care for these evacuated kitties with a donation – any amount helps! Keep an eye on our News section or watch our Facebook page for updates on these sweet kitties.

Save Cats in Your Spare Time

Save Cats in Your Spare Time

For 25 years, our volunteers have helped make SAFE Haven for Cats what it is today. We need volunteers that are outgoing, hardworking, and want to make a difference for cats. Come to our Volunteer Information Session where you can learn about the essential role volunteers play in shelter cat care, community outreach, and adoptions.

We will have a presentation at 6:30 p.m. and then you can learn more from staff and current volunteers about opportunities, training, and the rewards of volunteering at SAFE Haven. Cat lovers ages 16 and up welcome.

Why we need you:
Volunteers are needed to help clean the cat cages, socialize the cats, represent SAFE Haven at community outreach events such as Fill-A-Truck, work on special event committees like our Tuxedo Cat Ball, and much more.

We have a volunteer opportunity just for you!
