Help Us Say YES to Cats in Need

Our monthly giving Paw Pals members help keep our doors open to all the cats in need. Through monthly gifts, we are able to say YES, we can take care of any cat in need.

One such kitty is Flittermouse, who recently came to us from a concerned rescuer. This tiny kitten’s eyes were matted and crusty. He needed immediate care and we said YES.

When we first saw him, we thought he would probably be blind for the rest of his life, but he has an amazing will to live. After just a few weeks in our care, his eyes are clearing up. He’s eating well and living his best kitten life. And he can definitely see out of both eyes!

Flittermouse Before and After

If you become a Paw Pals donor, your monthly gift will ensure we can always say YES to cats like Flittermouse and others like him. Each month, we’re asked to care for our community’s cats that are most in need. Say YES to caring for these cats by joining our Paw Pals monthly giving program.

More Cats! More Tales!

More Cats! More Tales!

Y’all have been so great! We’ve heard from so many of you with stories of your SAFE Haven alums. It’s brought a lot of memories back for our staff and longtime volunteers and we’re asking for MORE!

In case you haven’t shared your story yet, here’s how: on our special 25th Anniversary page, you’ll find a place to share. You can also tell your tale on social media by tagging us with #SH25 or #4EverSAFE.

Not sure what to write? Here are a couple of ideas:

  • Did you keep your cat’s name the same or change it? Tell us why you changed or kept the name.
  • How do you celebrate your cat’s/cats’ adopt-a-versary? Kitty treats? A special toy? Let us know how you mark the day you brought your cat(s) into your life!
  • When did you know that your kitty was officially part of the family?

Fixing Your Cat Could Save Its Life!

Fixing Your Cat Could Save Its Life!

Spaying and neutering cats is one of the best ways to help reduce feline overpopulation but sterilization doesn’t just help community cats – it can help yours! Here are two things you should know:

Spaying & neutering your cat is safe and healthy!
Fixing cats can reduce their risk of fatal medical problems like uterine infections and breast cancer in female cats and testicular cancer in males.

Spay/neuter services don’t have to break the bank.
Medical costs can be expensive, but we believe sterilization is so important that we offer low-cost options for getting your pet spayed or neutered. Click here to read more about our pricing.

SAFE Haven for Cats Feline Fundamentals: Cat Enrichment

Tuesday, June 11
6:30 – 8:00 pm
SAFE Haven for Cats at 8431-137 Garvey Dr in Raleigh
Tickets:$5 donation

It’s no secret – cats get bored, and bored kitties can do bad things. Enrichment can be as simple as finding the perfect toy or as complex as teaching your cat tricks through the use of clickers. Learn some strategies for keeping kitties interested and curious at every stage of their lives.

Keeping kitties engaged and active throughout their lives is just as important as a good diet and regular medical care. We will discuss the environmental enrichment and needs of cats including inexpensive methods to reduce negative behaviors and stress in multi-cat households. We will also demonstrate clicker training for cats. At the end of the session, participants will be able to introduce new enrichment activities to their cats and kittens. We’re putting the FUN back into Feline Fundamentals!
